Ill -health means I can no longer manage my garden. It’s been organic for approximately 25 years, which I would like it to upheld. The left-hand side of the garden has an herbaceous border which will not be included in the agreement. My property is on the side of a hill so the garden is on a south-facing slope (about 40degrees), and access is via a gate at the side of the house so I would ask that this gate is always closed because of my three dogs. Please note that you cannot bring machinery, such as diggers, onto the property. I have a petrol lawn mower that you would have to buy fuel for. There are 3 currant bushes and a gooseberry bush, all of which have a good yield. The bottom of the garden has an ash pit from previous bonfires and, somewhere (!) a compost mound and a leaf mulch mound which you are welcome to excavate. I have staging and a potting table that you are welcome to use, plus brackets (no timber) for making a raised bed should you need to. There is a tap, hose, hose reel outside my workshop and a kettle inside which you may use (boots off before entering!) I’ve made my garden as insect-friendly as possible, having several sites for single-dwelling bees, mostly bumbles and leaf-cutters, last year I left nettles for butterflies, dragonflies and moths, a variety of hover flies and beetles and several species of spiders. If you’re on the same page as me, come and share my peaceful, sunny space!
